Robert Yves Carlier is Head of the Medical Imaging Services Department at Teaching hospital group of Paris Ile de France Ouest (GHU PIFO), France, and head of the imaging Medico-Universitary Department of the GH APHP Paris Saclay University. He graduated with a degree in medicine from the Faculty of Medicine Paris-Sud (Kremin-Bicêtre), Paris, France in 1991, and proceeded to complete a diploma in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and in maxillofacial imaging, in 1991, at the same institution.
From 1991 to 1994, Dr Carlier completed a fellowship in radiology at the KreminBicêtre Hospital, and at the Raymond Poincaré Hospital. He obtained a diploma in biological engineering, specializing in bio-imaging from the Faculty of Créteil and Bobigny, France, in 1993, and a research qualification from the University of Versailles-St Quentin en Yvelines, France, in 2004.
Pr. Carlier’s research focuses on diagnostic neuroradiology, interventional and diagnostic musculoskeletal radiology, and, in particular, whole-body muscle imaging.
Dr Carlier is a member of national and international societies including the French Society of Radiology and Medical Imaging, the French Society of Neuroradiology (SFNR), the European College of Radiology (ECR). He has authored or co-authored many articles published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Neuroradiology, the Journal of Radiology, Spine, Radiology, European Radiology, Neurology, Neuromuscular disorders, American Journal of Radiology.
